We had planned a walk in the Lakes this weekend, but as we set off to drive over there yesterday morning, I discovered that the windscreen wipers weren't working properly which made driving a little difficult, so the plans were put on hold for a week. The route map of our walk
St Edwin's church silhouetted against the early morning sky
Heading out across the frozen fields behind the village
The sky looked to be on fire from the glow of the rising sun
It was bitterly cold first thing, everything was frozen solid
Another view of the sun rise
Tim keeping a watchful eye out for rabbits
Another view of the sun rise
Another view of the sun rise, I couldn't stop taking photo's it was so good!
The village of Low Coniscliffe, from here we followed The Teesdale Way upstream to High Coniscliffe
The River Tees, I think this is one of the nicest stretches of river for walking, its a very popular spot
Despite it still been below freezing Tim just had to go in the river for a swim!
The early morning sun and blue skies were perfect for these reflections in the water
The recent flooding had damaged lots of the willow tree's, the water level would have been over my head just here!
The path was extremely icy along the river bank
St Edwin's church again, but this time from the river
