These were the last two summits we needed to do to complete all of the 'Central Fells'. Not really sure why, but we'd sort of put them off several times before. Well we decided to tackle them head on today, as the weather was going to be so nice. The usual route picks it's way through the crags up the front of Eagle Crag, I wasn't 100% sure that I could manage with any scrambling with my neck, and when we got there and saw some snow still sitting on the crag we decided to cheat and use the back door route. I think we picked the slightly easier option, but it was still involved lots of huffing and puffing up the steep slopes to the side of Poundsey Crag. The hard work was worth it as the views from the summit down into the Borrowdale and Langstrath valleys were stunning. The walk along the broad ridge to Sergeants Crag was very interesting due to the large amounts of thawing snow, but nothing too bad. We had thought about going up onto High Raise from Sergeants Crag, but the wet snow was making the going heavy in places so we dropped back down by our ascent route instead.

Hmmm, a ladder stile, not Tim's favourite thing, he has problems co-ordinating his feet with the rungs!

The view from the summit was really stunning, I could have stayed there for ages
But we needed to head over to Sergeants Crag as well, through some deep snow by the look of it!
Sheena was enjoying the warm sunshine though, think a bit of sun block maybe needed????
