I wanted to try a new photographic technique out on this walk, which needed great views with not a lot of effort, as I needed to lug the tripod with me. The first place that sprung to mind was Gowbarrow Fell, not too bad of a climb up to Green Hill, which gives fabulous views over Ullswater. We started from the Aira Force car park, which gives the added bonus of visiting the waterfalls. The main fall of Aira Force is always a delight, even on this visit, when there was very little water coming over it. However, the main purpose of today's walk wasn't taking photo's of the waterfalls, even though I do really love that. I wanted to try and do a 360º panoramic photo over looking the lake. I've done this before, the difference today was that I wanted to convert the standard image into a 'virtual view' where the viewer can move the view around. Well, I'll let you decide if you think it was worth it or not? You'll find two of these views as you scroll down the page, you'll need to click onto the image to view them. A new window will open and the image will upload, it may take several seconds depending on how fast your internet is. It's best to view them in 'full screen' mode, it's the button on the far right of the menu bar!
