I live in the north
east of England, near to Darlington, with my wife Sheena, my step
children Andrew and Sarah, and our collie Tim. I been a very keen hill walker for many years,
mainly wandering the fells of the Lake District, but also exploring
parts of Snowdonia, the Scottish Highlands and the Pennines. Up until
about four year's ago I was involved in a lot of 'group leading' for a
number of voluntary organizations, but a major illness has
unfortunately meant that
I've had give up that role up.
More recently I've been
exploring
parts of the Lake District that had not been of much interest to me
before, and have
discovered some great little spots, which I'd
often driven past and never given them a second glance. In the past
when I was 'leading' my main criteria for going out for a walk
was to
'bag' as many summits over 2000' to put in my log book, now when we
(its not often I can escape by myself anymore) go out it's to enjoy the
mountains and ourselves ...
